Book AppointmentHow Contact Lenses Help
Contact lenses can help you enjoy clear, comfortable vision without your glasses and correct vision issues like nearsightedness, presbyopia, and astigmatism. Our team will also check your visual acuity during your contact lens exam to get the right prescription.
We will take the time to review your lifestyle needs and preferences to help determine what type of lenses will benefit you.
Getting the Right Fit
Knowing your prescription is only one part of the process. Getting the right fit for your contact lenses for your eye shape and prescription is crucial. The fitting process involves a careful measurement of your cornea as well as an overall health evaluation of your eye.
Once it is determined that you can safely wear contact lenses, our team can find the right contacts for your visual needs. We can fit you with a trial pair of lenses to take your lenses for a spin and schedule follow-up appointments to check how your eyes are responding and if you need an adjustment.
Types of Contact Lenses
Contact lenses generally fall under 2 different categories: soft and rigid gas permeable (RGP). Within these 2 categories are specialty contact lenses that can help address unique visual needs.
Multifocal Contact Lenses
Multifocal lenses feature 2 distinct powers in one lens for near and distant vision. These lenses can help correct presbyopia, eliminating the need for reading glasses.
Presbyopia typically affects patients over the age of 40, and multifocal lenses can be an excellent solution to reduce the need for reading glasses. Multifocal contact lenses are available in soft and RGP forms.
Toric Contact Lenses
Toric lenses are designed to help correct astigmatism. These lenses are available in soft and RGP designs and contain multiple powers, one vertical and the other horizontal. These different powers allow the lenses to center on the eye and provide clear vision.
Toric lenses require a precise fit, and our team can help find a safe, comfortable fit during the fitting process.
Colored Contact Lenses
Sometimes you may want to switch up your look a little bit. Colored contacts can allow you to customize your look with or without a prescription for both light and dark-colored eyes.
